FDA warning letter to Strut Health, February 20, 2026
We read warning letter 721448 on fda.gov. It says the labels pictured on Strut's site suggested Strut compounds its semaglutide and tirzepatide when it does not, and quotes the phrases 'Generic Zepbound, Mounjaro' and 'the active ingredient in the brand medications', which FDA says imply approval that compounded drugs do not have. It is an FDA allegation, not a court ruling, and we have not checked whether the wording is still on the site. We will update this entry if FDA closes the letter out.
Compounded GLP-1s are not FDA-approved and are not the same product as Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro
FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold. In 2026 FDA warned 30 telehealth companies over claims implying sameness with approved drugs, and proposed excluding semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide from the 503B bulks list, so the legal footing of this category can change.
